Asbestos Free Asbestos free sheeting is manufactured from a variety of fibres to substitute asbestos. The most common fibres used are Aramid, Mineral
Wool and Glass.
Compressed Asbestos Fibre (CAF) CAF is a high temperature gasket sheeting containing asbestos fibres bonded with a rubber polymer. Whilst asbestos is
hazardous in free floating fibre form, CAF is not hazardous unless the polymer has dried out or burnt off due to thermo cycling. The use of Asbestos is not Banned in South
Africa, however, the use of asbestos is controlled under the occupational health and safety act (OSHACT).
Standard types of sheeting available under industrial gasket sheeting. Other types of sheeting include rubber, sponge and metal. These various types of sheets may be
used to convert into gasketing, either as per standard international specifications or as per customer requirement.
We supply a wide range of "cut to size" or sheets to all industry. We manufacture specialised items, and will assist in problem solving with unusual
one-offs.
Chemical resistant sheeting comprises of two radically different types of material, i.e. normal Skived PTFE and our Flexatalic Sigma range of re-engineered PTFE
sheeting which minimises the effects of cold flow usually associated with skived PTFE sheeting.
