Spiral Wound Gaskets

Style S gaskets are sealing element only with a few additional layers of winding strip for use in tongue and groove and male / female flanges. These gaskets are also available in oval, obround and diamond shape for valve bonnet and handhole applications., 3.2mm & 4.5mm thick.

STYLE S

All spiral wound gaskets with PTFE filler have inner rings fitted

The standard RS with an additional inner ring fitted that provides an additional compression stop and protects the sealing element from heat and corrosion. Inner rings are standard on all gaskets NPS 24" class 900#, NPS 12" and above in 1500# and NPS 4" and above in 2500#.

STYLE RSI

The standard choice for RF and FF flanges with guide ring and sealing element made to ASME B16.20 / DIN standards.

STYLE RS

All RS and RSI gaskets for standard flanges have a 4.5mm thick sealing section of windings and filter material with 3.2mm thick solid metal guide rings.

THICKNESS

The steel outer guide ring centers the gasket within the bolt holes of the flange, stops over compression of the sealing element and prevents blow out. The sealing section made up of resilient V' shaped steel strip and a soft sealing filter guarantees excellent sealing. This combination of materials allows the gasket to seal under fluctuating temperature and pressure conditions.

HOW IT WORKS

Spiral Wound Gaskets are suitable for a wide range of operating conditions and can be adapted to suit almost all applications. The gaskets can seal fluid pressures up to 250 bar and temperature range of -200^oC to 1000^oC. The gasket is easy to install and remove   and will not cause damage to the flange surfaces. A combination of winding materials and metals are available which enable the gasket to meet the requirements of varied operating conditions
