The UNIBLOC worm gearbox series is conceived as a modular system with numerous configuration options, of which the one allowing for IEC/NEMA motor attachment should be especially in demand. Along
with an optional input stage, these modules which are assembled ready for installation are conveniently put together. Indeed very few modules are required to ensure gear ratios in the range between
i =5 to i =10000.
The single-reduction UNIBLOC worm gearbox modules with IEC/NEMA motor attachment provisions are available with many different gear ratios from about i=5 to i=100 depending on the center distance.
On the input side the one-piece worm gear shafts are machined with a gear rim allowing internal geared coupling sleeves to engage. There is an assortment of intermediate flanges and motor shaft
coupling sleeves which can be used to join the ready assembled oil-filled worm gear module to any type of IEC/NEMA motor,even to the more compact B-14 motors. With the geared coupling, a superior
technical approach has been found to connect motor shaft and worm shaft without the risk of distortion, while ensuring high ease of assembly and disassembly as well.
The UNIBLOC worm gearbox is equipped with foot mounting provisions on three sides, B14 flanges on two sides and a hollow output shaft as standard. In addition various solid output shafts are
available to be plugged in, plus flanges and torque arms which can be bolted on to the output side.
UNIBLOC worm gearboxes with IEC/NEMA attachment provisions, W-design, with an added helical stage on the input side, and combined drives are proposed as a system of modular components. The worm
gearbox module is available with a toothed coupling on the input side and with a hollow shaft (for any frame size and gear ratio). This worm gearbox module is assembled ready for installation to a
motor. It is extremely good value especially if larger numbers are ordered. These standard worm gear box modules will be provided with appropriate IEC/NEMA intermediate flanges, coupling sleeves,
output flanges, torque arms, plug-in shafts, W-attachment cylinders, helical input stage modules, or worm gear input stage modules as desired. Obviously with this high number of options a great
many combinations are possible.
The worm stage consists of a hardened worm with particularly smooth teeth flanks, the worm gear of a high-grade special bronze. This combination along with a synthetic long-term lubricant
on a polyglycol basis ensures long service life and high efficiency. Once again the typical NORD single-piece gearcase design has been employed and even enhanced, this time in developing the new worm gearbox series going by the name of UNIBLOC. The new UNIBLOC worm gears are accommodated in a continuous aluminium die-cast housing for which neither covers nor any sealing of joints are required. The rigid housing block ensures superior operational dependability even at full load and, with a couple of different attachment options, satisfies economical criteria as well. |
