PE Series Boiler Feed Pumps

Senseof rotation of shaft in all the pumps is counterclockwise(clockwise incase of PE 270-150), if viewed from the drive side.

Thedesign of pump shaft seal chambers provides both for housingmechanicalseals and for packing the stuffing boxes, which are to fed withcoolingliquid.

Thepump rotor is carried by the plain bearings with ring lubrication(withforced lubrication from a pressure lubrication installation for thepump PE270-150).

Therotor axial thrust is automatically balanced with a balance disc.Inorder to ensure a normal functioning of the balancing device, itschamber is tobe communicated with the suction pipeline. A bearing endcover, fitted in thenon-drive side bearing housing, has a shaftposition indicator for sightcontrol of the wear of balancing devicesurfaces and for restraining rotoraxial displacements towards thedelivery side.

Thesuction and delivery casings have flanged suction and dischargepumpnozzles respectively, which are oriented vertically to the top.

Thepump casing comprises a suction casing, a delivery casing and a setofstage casings, which are concentrically aligned with respect to eachotheron rabbeted fits and are bolted together with tie bolts. Diffusersare built inthe stage casings and delivery casing.

Thepumps are motor-driven horizontal,centreline-supported,between-bearings multistage ring-sectioncentrifugal pumps with single flowimpeller arrangement.

The pump units shall be rigidly anchored to the foundation, and pipingshall be also rigidly connected to the pumps.

The PE 270-150 and PE250 pump unit models are equipped with a gear-type coupling andisfurnished with a pressure lubrication installation to provide theircouplingand bearings with lube oil.

Design: APEseries pump unitsconsist of a centrifugal pump and an induction motor,which are mounted on acommon fabricated base plate. In case of PE 150-63 and PE250 models the pump and motor are mounted on separate base plates.Thepump and motor shafts are connected by means of arubber-bushed(pin-and-bushing) flexible coupling enclosed with acoupling guard.

Applications: Designed for deliveringtreated water (feedwater) at the pumping temperature of up to 438 (165^o) into the fossil-fueled stationary boilers with absolute steam pressureof maximum 13.7 MPa (140 kgf/cm²).
