Johnson PUMP GUARD JACKET WHAT IS V-WIRE GUARD JACKET ?In the old tube wells, which are producing sand with water, the pump gets damaged and requires frequent maintenance and premature replacements. This not only increases the maintenance and replacement costs, but also increases frequent break down of tube wells causing interruptions in water supply. The Pump Guard Jacket is specially designed to protect the pump from sand in such old tube wells without reducing discharge or increasing motor load. The Johnson Pump Guard Jacket is made from world-renowned Johnson V-wire screen. These screens are made by spirally winding a V-shaped profile wire around series of longitudinal support rods and by fusion welding each intersection of profile wire and support rods. The spacing between two adjacent turns of V-shaped wire gives slot opening for water to enter. This design has inwardly widening V-shaped continuous slots. The complete manufacturing process is computerized which enables accurate slots upto 0.15mm width. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION. The jacket is made from screen of appropriate slot opening depending upon the sand particle size. The screen is closed at the bottom by flat screen of same design and slot opening. Top end is fitted with a threaded end ring with male thread. The pump is to be inserted inside the jacket and top end to be closed by a threaded end cap with female threads. The end cap has a hole in the top face equal to the size of column pipe used. This way the jacket is supported on pump and the pump with motor is completely covered inside the jacket. Hence, the entire water flow to pump is filtered through screen, reducing the sand content appreciably. The jacket length is generally kept app 4 to 5 ft. more than the total length of pump and motor. This is to ensure that even if bore is filled with sand/silt, the pump always gets a clear submergence of 4 to 5 ft. THE SALIENT FEATURES : * Continuous Slots : The special design gives continuous slot opening across the periphery and length of screen.* Non Clogging Slots : V-Shape wire which gives inwardly widening V-shape slots. This shape does not give space for any sand particle to get stuck inside the slot and hence these screens are NON CLOGGING.* Very Large % Open Area : This design gives continuous slot and hence the % open area for water to enter is very large. This ensures minimum additional suction load on pump.* Better Sand Filtration : Due to specialized manufacturing process, wide range of slot opening is available down to 0.15 mm to allow proper slot selection depending upon the size of sand in particular area. This gives better sand control and reduced pump maintenance and longer tube well life.
