The pump operates motive pressure from steam, compressed, nitrogen or other inert gases to elevate condensate.
The mechanical seals in standard condensate return pumps begin to have difficulty when handling condensate in excess of 90 oC. Seal failure is virtually guaranteed when condensate temperature reach 95 oC due to flashing of condensate across the seal face. It is therefore required to cool condensate inorder to prevent seal failure prior to pumping using electric pumps. CRPs do not have seals and therefore handle condensate well in excess of these temperatures.
The primary application of CRP is to pump condensate from process application or condensate collection area back to the return system.
Operates using steam or compressed air. Saves heat by returning condensate back to boiler without loss of heat in the transfer.
