INFORMATIONabout developing trends the tools for the extrusion of clay with ceramic elements
ENKER has been producing extrusion tools for more than 27 years. In the first phase, ENKER, together with producers of brick products, analysed elements exposed to high wear and mostly steel core
and frame. By build ceramic cores and frame plates their life time has been extended in relation to those metal to thermic processing for about 5 to 10 times. It gives multiple effects to the
efficiency of brick production consisting of the following:
1. Savin of clay because of the minimal use of the ceramics, the initial thickness of the brick walls is maintaned for longer period. These saving amount from 10 to 30% and more in some brick
factories that have rarely changed metal wear parts.
2. Saving of electric power while extrusion by decreasing resistance and pressures. Depending on the profile and the type of press the saving amount from 8 to 35%.
3. Saving energy while drying and baking bricks (smaller mass) amount from 10 to 20%.
4 Lower losses of capacity because of the tools replacement and adjustment while exchanging, increase productivity for about 5%.
ENKER performs grinding of ceramic elements thus producing the thickness of the walle in the precision of 0,2 mm. In such manner, precisiones of tools and great resistance of ceramics to abrasion
provide the above mentioned effects.
Given that the ceramics has the hardnes of over 80 HRc it may be concluded what quality of material is concerned.
INOVATIONS IN THE PRODUCTION OF TOOLS
During last five years ENKER paid more attention to other parts of tol following the experiences of the competition in the world and what is optimal for the bricks producers in order to improve
effects of production of bricks and the best tools.
Novelties that ENKER has introduced for the majority of clients in the production of bricks are:
1. Elements for braking of clay (brakes), intern and extern
2. Protective metal plates for preventing eventual damage of ceramics during the manipulation (protection of ceramics)
3. Frame plates of higher height protecting metal frame beneath the plates (different performing of the frame plates)
4. Thermic processing of metal elements, that, because of the increased mehanic characteristic (hardness and resistance to abrasion), use holders of core of smaller dimensions thus decreasing
resistance and ease flow of the clay
In this way, metal elements has characteristics of the tool for precise machine industry because of the use of high alloyed steels.
All these improvements provide metal parts of the tools that are of the same quality as other world leading producers. By build ceramic elements, the ENKER tools are among the leading in the
world. Thus ENKER exports tools or ceramic elements to more countries, such as:
-Italy
-Spain
-Slovenia
-Croatia
-England
-Serbia
-Germany
-Saudi Arabia, etc.
For each client ENKER works out specific tool construction in order to obtain optimal choice of the incoming angles and other constructive parts depending of the quality of clay, press and brick
profiles.
All clients who have tested for the first time new construction solutions for tools stay to work with them and accept them forever being convincied in ther multiple effects of application.
For all further information or common technical solutions adjusted to all clients the ENKER experts are at disposal offering the best choice.

EXTRUDING TOOLS
High abrasive influence of the mass to be extruded makes considerable problems to brick manufacturers due to high tools wear and frequent production downtimes what causes difficulties in
maintaining the required dimensions defined by standards. By increasing the wall thickness and product dimensions a high percentage of the extruded mass is being irretrievably lost what causes
the higher energy needs in drying and firing processes.
Solution of this problem was being sought by manufacturing the wear elements of steel, hard chromed metal or of hard metal. The hard chromed parts did not give optimal results and hard metal
parts had no success in a wider commercial use because of to high price of them. Optimal design, developed by ENKER in the recent 30-years, is the manufacturing elements from high quality oxide
ceramics, which can be compared with hard metal concerning life time but it is considerably cheaper.
Application of these tools is not yet exceeded in the whole world and our designers with long-range experience give a help to the brick producers every day in solving some details and increasing
productivity and quality.
Recommendation for order or inquiry:
We ask you to give the sketch or drawing with brick basic dimensions, thickness of the walls and distance of the cores, details of shrinkage, as well the other necessary parameters for designig
the tools, together with your inquiry (Core height, Tile thickness, Inclination angle at cores, Inclination angle at tiles). We design and deliver complete tools, core sets or ceramic tile sets.
