Improved Operating Characteristic is provided by use of the GA Microdrive Mechanism. The Microdrive mechanism converts the linear motion of the cylinder or motor operator into a 90 degree rotation of the rotor. The drive mechanism provides a decelerating rotation as the rotor moves to the closed position which results in an improved closing characteristic. For pump control service, the closure characteristic is critical in controlling pump start-up and shut-down surges. The closing characteristic of the Rotary Valve will allow a gradual deceleration in the fluid column in order to minimize surge conditions.

One piece body construction of the Rotary Valve makes this one of the most rugged valves available. Other ball valve designs incorporate split case body castings and/or bolt-on end flanges. Maintenance on a split case body involves unbolting the body from the pipeline and can lead to seat alignment problems upon reassembly. The one-piece body of the Rotary Valve, once installed in the pipeline, never has to be removed from the line. All maintenance can be performed through either the top cover or the seat access cover. This ensures fast, simple maintenance without realignment problems. The Rotary Valve is available in sizes 6 through 36 and can be provided with castiron, ductile iron or cast steel body construction. (Larger sizes are available,consult factory for details.)

For Pump Control Service the Golden Anderson Rotary Valve provides minimal head loss; when in the open position the Rotary Valve has a head loss equivalent to a straight piece of pipe. There are no restrictions or obstructions in the waterway, which permits the Rotary Valve to be used on a wide variety of fluids ranging from clean water to raw waste water and sewage applications. When in the closed position, the hydraulically actuated seating arrangement assures tight shut-off. With minimum headloss during pumping operations and tight shut-off when not pumping, use of the Rotary Valve will result in substantial savings of pumping costs.
