Completion of the Acquisition of Shares in Xinfei Companies Further to the announcement issued on 29 September 2005, the Board of Directors of HongLeong Asia Ltd. (the Company") wishes to announce the completion of the acquisition of 39%each in the registered capital of Henan Xinfei Electric Co., Ltd. (HXE") and Henan XinfeiHousehold Appliance Co., Ltd. (HXH") from Henan Xinfei Electrical Appliance (Group) JointStock Co., Ltd. (XEA") (the Acquisition") pursuant to Share Transfer Agreements dated 29September 2005 between Hong Leong Electric Pte Ltd (HLE"), a wholly-owned subsidiary ofthe Company, and XEA. The Acquisition has received the approvals of the relevant ChineseGovernment authorities including the Ministry of Commerce, in Beijing. With the completion of the Acquisition, HLE now holds 90% of the registered capital of HXE andHXH respectively. These Xinfei Companies are the second largest manufacturers anddistributors of refrigerators and freezers in the PRC and HLA will, with the increase in its shareof the Xinfei Companies, benefit from the strong growth in the PRC market for white goods.
