BARBOUR SILVER COMPANY: In 1881 or 1882 Samuel and his brother Charles Barbour formed Barbour Brothers Company in New Haven, Connecticut to market silverplate products. By 1889 they had a facility at 64 Market Street in downtown Hartford and were described as manufacturers of silverplated ware. By 1892 when Barbour Silver Company was formed it was listed at 62 Market Street and the description had changed to Silversmiths. When the International Silver Company was established in 1898 Barbour Silver was one of several silver firms absorbed by them.
Coffee pot measures: 7 1/5 high, 7 1/5 handle to spout. Capacity: 1 ? pints (20 fluid ounces)
Creamer measures: 3 ? high, 4 7/10 handle to spout
Sugar measures: 2 7/10 high, 5 4/10 handle to handle
Each piece of this gracefully proportioned demitasse coffee set is engraved on both sides with delicately patterned bows and floral garlands. The coffee pot also has engraving at the base of the spout and on the lid. The handle is insulated with ivory breakers.
