Founded in 1971, White Light is now in its thirty-eighth year as one of the leading suppliers of lighting equipment to the entertainment and corporate-event industries.
Our heritage is in theatre: our first job was the transfer of The Rocky Horror Show from the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs to the Kings Road Theatre; even now, we regularly supply productions of the
show!
We now supply equipment to shows of all types and scales, including some of the biggest shows in the West End, on tour and elsewhere in the world: , , Grease, Sister Act, We Will Rock You and many
more.
We continue to provide lighting designers with the latest tools and technology to realise their visions for a show as we have done throughout our history, and to make that technology available to
others working on smaller shows or to lower budgets. We remain as happy to supply two lights to a school play or fringe production as we are to supply a complete West End lighting rig.
Though many still think of us as a , our work now spreads far beyond that reaching into every area where lighting is used as part of entertainment. Our can offer everything from a single sheet of
colour to a complete lighting rig - including , if required, and are the supplier of choice for projects as far away as Germany and Macau. Our maintain and support dimmers, lighting desks and other
equipment for theatres around the country either as required or through long-term service contracts.
We also offer a complete lighting service, where required, with our offering anything from equipment rental to design, specification, installation, crewing and operation, including taking care of
health and safety and risk assessment documentation; one such project, the Christmas lighting at in Surrey, was the subject of a feature article in magazine.
Though our equipment stock is one of the most diverse and comprehensive in the business, we're also happy to create products if we can't find quite the right tool for the job. Our popular optical
effect system is specified by lighting designers worldwide. Our new Snow Machine, developed for Billy Elliot, won an award at the 2008 LDI Show, and is now available for hire or sale.
All of these activities are serviced from our base in , south-west London, which offers 45,000 square feet of warehouse and equipment preparation space and 10,000 square feet of office space and
also provides a home to a number of other companies working in various fields of the entertainment and corporate event industries industries. We also have an on-line store at .
The overall result is a multi-faceted company employing over 100 people and with an annual turnover approaching ?10million, that covers every area of entertainment and corporate event lighting.
In these changing times - both at home and in the world at large - White Light provides a familiar touchstone offering superb service and support as it has done for over three decades.
