A full Duration Test is also programmed into the SDS Unit, allowing for a full discharge of the Battery Pack, after which, normal charging will resume. Any faults found are displayed via a second, multi-coloured LED, which is also visible from the outside of the Unit.

As an additional feature, the Self-Diagnostic System (See ) can be included (space permitting), which allows for Functional Testing of the Lamp, Battery Packs, and Emergency Control Gear.
 

The Lead Acid Battery Packs are securely held in place by means of Galvanized Steel brackets.

The automatic Changeover to and from Emergency Mode is carried out via an Electronic Circuit within the Inverter.

The ECL80 EMERGENCY FLOODLIGHT can be made to operate in the Non-Maintained or Maintained Mode, depending on whether the Luminaire is equipped with Standard Control Gear, and also upon how the ECL80 Mains Connections and Output Connections are wired.

A Charge Indicating LED also features on EMERGENCY CONTROL GEAR HOUSING and is visible from the outside of the Unit.

Connection to the Unswitched Mains 230 V AC Supply is via a 4 way, High Temperature Terminal Block which is well secured to the ECL80 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY, and exits on one side of the EMERGENCY CONTROL GEAR HOUSING.
