We are offering a 2-year FULL replacement warranty.  If any LED fails to burn, we will replace the entire bulb at no additional charge. (Does not include water damage.)

You waste a ton of energy using metal halide lighting because you have to mount it away from the water surface to avoid glass breakage from water splash hitting the super hot glass of the bulb.  The radiant heat, that is a by product of metal halide lighting, has long been the nemesis of keeping reef tanks cool.

These two areas are where we gain an advantage over metal halide lighting.  Because you cannot shatter the AquariumLED lamp, we can recommend mounting as close as 2 inches off the water surface!  With our innovative heat sink design, the heat generated by the led lamps is pulled up and away from the bulb plate never affecting your water temperature and prolonging the life of the led lamp itself.

Based on PAR readings by the most respected people in aquarium lighting analysis, most of the 175 watt metal halide lamp / ballast combinations provide around 63-87 ppfd at 18 inches.  This means that if you have a 20" deep tank and a 2 inch sand bed, you can get the advertised ppfd to the sand bed IF you mount the lamp at the water surface.  However, when you mount the lamp at a safe distance from the splashing water so you don't shatter lamps and electrocute your inhabitants, the PAR readings drop dramatically at the sand bed.  By mounting the metal halide lamp just 9 inches from the surface you have reduced the available light to the low 20's - low 30's ppfd and you are still spending a ton of money on electrical bills to light and cool your tanks!
