These lamps have been carefully fashioned after spears and arrows used by the great Southwestern tribes and decorated with ceremonial items such as real turquoise gemstones and wild bird feathers. The top portion of the floor lamp is incased with a decorative hand forged iron grate that displays hand cut copper silhouettes of a horse and rider. The spears and arrows are individually wrapped with genuine rawhide lacing, and the shade itself is 100% hand stitched rawhide. Both fixtures are mounted onto a triangular base that is hand chipped from a solid block of sandstone, quarried from the foothills of the Navajo nation. The sandstone"s rich colors and unique patterns help ensure that each lamp is its own individual piece of artwork that carries a small portion of Native American history. We apply only patina finishes to ensure the longest lasting, heirloom quality art. Patina is created by hand applying oxides to the iron and firing at over 1000 degrees to create a finish that is a permanent part of the metal. A patina will never fade, crack or chip, and will only improve with age.
