Set up by Sujata Shah Singh and Saroj Singh, The Company takes pride in presenting the very best of fine antique collectibles. Every piece is carefully handpicked and meticulously restored to
its original state by skilled craftsmen, and what finally emerges is an original classic.
The Art of Restoring Furniture
Since old furniture is always in need of major restoration, Sujata transports the pieces that she has collected to her workshop in Gurgaon, where a group of carpenters, polishers and assorted
craftsmen toil over the old furniture, extricating from it the ravages of neglect and time. Each piece is totally dismantled for any repair that might be required, and then sandpapered so that the
years of grime are washed away. The piece is then reassembled to its original state and then French polished. Care is taken to preserve the natural colour, and the innate wood grains are visible.
The whole process of restoring is done by hand and there is no use of any machinery at all.
As a collector and restorer, Sujata Shah Singh endeavors to preserve the countrys heritage by ensuring that the examples of fine craftsmanship are not destroyed by ignorance and misuse. This
eco-friendly reuse of old furniture discourages the felling of trees, thus preserving the environment.
