Isn't that amazing process! We are glad to utilize Indonesian's traditional colorful threads to decorate our table lamps.  Oh yeah...we add colorful palm leaf rib as finishing touch.

What's "Tenun" thread?  A brief process: The annual variety of cotton is grown throughout Eastern Indonesia . Women harvest it by hand; gin and clean it to remove seeds and dirt and than card it to fluff it up. They will than spin it into thread by hand using a simple but highly effective gravity spindle. The hand spun thread is wound into measured skeins and wrapped over an open wooden frame. These threads form the wrap or lengthways thread of the final cloth. Finally the threads are divided according to the kind of motif and then tidying. After tide the motif the threads are move from the frame for dying. These processes often take months to complete.
