COMPANY
Vesuviana Berger Company was established in 1972 by Natale Panariello and his wife Adelaide Naddeo and incorporated in 1991. The company specializes in the import, export,
production, and distribution of wedding sovenirs, ornaments, gifts, and related memrobilia. The company is located in Torre Del Greco near the city of Naples. When it was first started, the company
was a traditional family owned business. The items produced included wedding sovenirs and gifts and were carefully hand made by skilled craftsmen. In 1983, Mr. Natale Panariello realized that the
market was expanding and, at that time, the company changed to an emerging industrial organization. The production increased greatly as did the product line. Vesuviana Berger
Company also started incorporating different materials such as wood, resin, glass, ribbon, tulle and trimmings. They also changed and expanded their offerings of ceramics and porcelin to
reflect the new, modern style. In the eighties, as the company grew at home in Italy to the point that all their production was being sold immediately, they contacted foreign countries to start
selling abroad. In a few a years, their products were being sold in 56 countries. In order to effectively handle their growing sales, the company reorganized into three separate sales divisions.
These were wedding souvenirs, gfts, and Christmas items. From the beginning of the company, the ceramics and porcelain products experienced moderate, although steady growth. However, in 1993 and
1994, these products experienced a significant growth in sales. In the last three years, Vesuviana Berger Company experienced a slight decrease in the demand for their products
overall. This was realized from a considerable decrease of demand at home that was greatly offset by increased exportation to their foreign markets. Much of their foreign sales were intiated at the
many trade fairs at which Vesuviana Berger Company had products on display. The effect of the decrease in domestic sales was greatly reduced by the flexibility of the prices of
their products. The company was still able to be competitive due to their quick deliveries, excellent relationships with their customers, and the high production flexibility that allowed them to
meet the varied needs of the market..
