The cloth is then dyed with indigo grown in the gardens. It takes about one month of dipping and drying the cloth daily to produce the typical colour.This cloth is embellished with silver ornaments, coins, beads, red-dyed feather tassels, seeds and also a bright-coloured appliqu?; the traditional Akha outfits have indeed a lot of various decorations.After the production of the traditional pattern in the village, raw materials are given to women in Chiang Mai who assemble the cloths and materials and finish the bags.
