Women use them to carry their babies and toddlers (one at the time of course) on the back while they are doing house chores, attending a food stall or just walking. "Mantas" are used as tablecloths in restaurants too. People who like the colourful Andean fabrics will use these "mantas" as tablecloths with some ceramics on the top to complete the rustic/country/Andean look.
It will fit a child up to 5-6 years old.
The embroidery was made using the Andean technique called 'arpillera". Made of Peruvian colourful "manta" (*).
This gorgeous backpack has an embroidery of an Andean scene at the front, it has a draw string and has two straps at the back.
