Water Tube Boilers D TYPE WATER TUBE STEAM BOILERSWITH LIQUID and GAS FUEL Water tube steam boilers are used in the industry for higher capacities and pressures which the fire tube boilers can not reach for steam production. It is not suitable fort he consummations over 30 tons/h and 20 bars steam production with the fire tube boilers. Cause of it water tube steam boilers are used for higher capacities. Design of the water tube boilers consists of the two drums ( upper, lower ), drum pipes, membrane walls and funace ( combustion chamber ) is covered with the membrane walls. Membrane walls consists of water pipes and they cool down the membrane walls. Energy from the combustion chamber is transferred to the heating surfaces by convection and radiation. Steam in the boiler is collected in the upper drum with vaporizing water in the membrane and drum pipes. The level control, water feding system, surface blowdown, safety vents, and necessary outlets have been designed on the upper drum. The water tube steam boilers may be designed to use liquid and gas fuels. Advantages of the watertube steam boilers; I. High efficiency, they may reach up to 95 % efficiency with appropriate auxiliary equipments. II. Using good quality of feed water can extend the economic life long. III. Watertube boilers have not higher water volumes, cause of it they can produce steam rapidly. IV. It dosent have a risk of explosion as fire tube boilers
