Ni Resist irons offer resistance to frictional wear, corrosion, erosion, heat and oxidation, non-magnetic response, good machinability and high strength. Fields of application include chemical, food and pump and paper processing, petroleum refining, power plants, marine and miscellaneous liquids handling and internal combustion engine components. "Flocast" bar is produced in Ni Resist grades for applications demanding heat and corrosion resistance. Only two grades are presently made: a flake graphite grade designated NR1 and a ductile grade designated NR2D. Both grades are produced only to order.
