Expo will be located in Karaganda. Mittal Steel Temirtau (previously named Ispat Karmet)also located here . This is one of the largest, and most modern integrated steel plants in the world.  The plant is enormous occupying about 5,000 hectares and it has a current steelmaking capacity of 5.5 million tons per annum. The company also operates a 435 MW thermal power station.

The previous edition of this event held in June 2007, was a great success and featured 97 exhibiting companies including: Kazakhstan 37, Russia 26, Germany 18, Poland 8, Austria 2,Ukraine 2, China 2, United Kingdom 1, Slovakia 1, South Africa 1, Turkey 1, Korea 1.  Furthermore the event was visited by almost 4000 professional visitors.
