The high surface energy fine particles are thermally activated to form bonding necks between them. The shape retention is transferred from the binder to the necks, prior to the complete removal of the polymeric binder system from the moulded green body. The bonds are strengthened and grown into full density structure during the high energy diffusion sintering, The result is the transformation of powder into a full density, net shape, high precision complex metal or a ceramic or composite component with multiple design properties.
