The main application areas are water distribution, iirrigation networks, sewer systems, water intakes and outfalls, submarine pipelines, process piping and fire fighting networks and penstocks.
Design parameters are in accordance with IS standards, ANSI/AWWA C950 and AWWA M-45 design manual. Test methods and recommended practices according to ASTM sandards.
The standard joint is bell and spigot but other joints are available for special applications and for restrained and un-restrained pipe line systems.
Pipes manufactured by the FM process are used for both above ground and buried installations, for gravity flow, medium and high pressure in a diameter range from DN100 and in pressure classes up to 32 bar (kgs). The pipes offers a superior corrosion resistance with high mechanical and physical properties.
Pipes are manufactured using a fixed mandrel on computer controlled machines to ensure repeatability of the pipe properties. The mandrel diameter determines the ID of the pipes and the OD is dependent on the design wall thickness as required for different pressure and stiffness classes. By adjusting the speed of the rotation and by adjusting the distribution head, different winding angles can be obtained for high axial strength or high hoop strength.
