Applications: Base material of FRP, cable reinforcement materias, ropes, poles
There are two typical types of roving; direct and assembled roving. Direct roving is a multiplicity of glass fiber strands directly wound onto a mandrel to form a cylindrical
package during the spinning process. Assembled roving is one type of strand that is wound onto a mandrel with an additional process; gathering or assembling of strands.
Characteristics: It is possible to increased the mechanical properties and fiber volume because there is no twist during the spinning process and it is also treated with a binder to improve impregnation for filament winding and the pultrusion process. |
