Ohara's Low Softening Temperature Optical Glasses have almost the same optical constants (refractive indices and dispersions) as conventional optical glasses, and can be formed at a relatively lower temperature. This property helps to extend the life span of pressing molds because the lower pressing temperature reduces the reaction between glass and the pressing mold.In addition, the glasses do not contain PbO and As2O3 for environmental reasons, which makes our procedures for waste disposal much easier. Furthermore, the Low Softening Temperature Optical Glasses are quite suitable materials for precision glass molding since they have almost the same general properties as regular optical glasses, including chemical durability.The Glass Types of Low Softening Temperature Optical Glasses are headed with "L-"
