Historically, the company has manufactured a vast range of lathes, cutting and forming equipment for the scientific glass industry.

The Lathes are measured by the bore size of the heads, which determines the size of the glass that can be passed through the machine. Our standard machines cover bore sizes ranging from 32 mm to 500 mm in diameter. Heathway also manufacture automated lathes systems for the specialist glass products, and are able to look at each product on their merit, and provide a possible solution.

For many years Heathway has manufactured Quartz and Glassmaking lathes for supply to customers throughout the world. Heathway supply the highest quality product designed and manufactured for lasting accuracy over a long operating life, resulting in machines in the field for in excess of 50 years.Accuracy is essential for good stress-free lathe working of glass and quartz. To obtain and maintain this accuracy, all of our lathe beds are built of cast iron to produce a rigid structure. The innovative system on which the tailstock is mounted, produces a smooth reduced friction movement without loss in accuracy which also minimises wear.
