Using an MBC positive displacement pump for a settable amount of degree rotation attains the target weight. One servo axis drives the MBC pump to move product from a hopper above, through the cutoff valve and onto the tray. The use of a servo-controlled cutoff valve is used as a positive stop to prevent dripping after pumping. The cutoff valve opens and closes during each dispense cycle. The second axis moves the cutoff valve in conjunction with the pump to place product in the tray as it moves under the filler.
The control system uses a Panelview 700 Plus as the operator interface for setup data entry and fault annunciation.
How does it work?
Our Servo tray filler is capable of filling moving trays with a product speed of up to 125 trays per minute. Using Allen-Bradley Kinetix servo drives and Controllogix PLC motion commands, the filler places a target weight of product into each tray as it passes under the filler. Product placement in the tray is setup using the operator interface.
