Siemens S7-300 PLC is equipped on standard machine, servo motor drive for the filling station could be added without additional modification. The movement of the filling is programmable via the operation panel to simulate different kinds of cam curve, the curve data can be saved and restored. This makes product change-over and innovation very convenient.
Servo Motor Drive for Filling Station
The machine length is extended to 5m to provide more space for manual operation and more positions for additional working stations. Support of the machine framework is increased from 4 pieces to 6 pieces which reinforces the strength of the machine for steadier running.

According to the understanding of ice cream industry and practical experience, some improvements in terms of layout, function extension, control, change-over and maintenance are made on the Runchen Krunt-G4 filling machine.
Machine Extra Advantages
The required vacuum for cup, container and lid dispensing is obtained through venturi valves.
For hygienic reasons all pneumatic components are made anti-corrosive, lubrication-free materials. All valves are electrically activated seat valves and they are built into a stainless steel cabinet above the machine.
Compressed Air and Vacuum System
The product data are displayed on the control touch panel to easy operation and monitoring.
Runchen Krunt-G4 is controlled via a central PLC control system. The PLC makes it possible to obtain more accurate control and easier change-over between products. The PLC allows for automatic start-up and shut-down, and it is equipped with 2MB data storage space which allows a numbers of products pre-programmed.
Control System
An encoder provides a signal to the PLC for accurate control of the movements activated by air.
A frequency controlled gear motor drives the main cam activating the cup or container dispenser and ejector. The linear movements of the lamella conveyors are mechanically synchronized from the main drive by means of an indexing mechanism.
Main Drive System
The machine is available with two different indexing pitches. The machine with an indexing pitch of 140mm is for smaller products whereas the machine with an indexing pitch of 210mm can handle larger family-size and bulk containers. It is not required to change chains when changing different pitch of lamellas.
All filling, decorating and auxiliary equipment including nozzles, hoses, drive station etc. are designed for simple and quick disconnection for easy product change-over and effective cleaning.
All the upper working stations are fitted on the rails, without fixing holes which allows for easy and fast positioning of the station without the use of tools.
Lubrication free, stainless steel conveyer chains with pitch of 70mm carry the lamellas which are mounted onto the chains by means of quick lock screws for easy change-over.
The Runchen Krunt-G4 is built on a sturdy stainless steel frame. The filling machine is designed to meet the highest hygienic standard, including a fully open frame which avoids water traps and allows for efficient hose-down cleaning. Spray nozzles for lamella cleaning are also included as standard equipment.
Basic Machine
After sealing and lidding the products are lifted up from the lamellas and transferred to a transfer conveyor belt. Automatic handling systems, e.g. a pick-and-place transfer unit, are available.
The lidding function can be chosen from a number of available techniques, depending on the design of the product, also heat sealing using pre-cut foil is possible.
Decoration with a number of different viscous or solid ingredients is possible and there is a full range of optional decoration equipment available for the Runchen Krunt-G4.
Filling of the ice cream, sorbet or water ice takes place by means of either time-elapse filler, volumetric filler or extrusion filler. In the case of extruded ice cream, a cutting mechanism is also included.
The cups, cone or bulk containers are dispensed one by one from dispenser stack and placed in the lamellas, ready for filling.
