Saves money and energy employed in field preparation. On an average it saves Rs. 2200/- per hectare. Wheat sowing can be advanced by 8-15 days. The problem of Phalaris minor is minimized because due to absence of ploughing weed seeds remain buried at lower depths. There is more efficient management of various resources i.e. seed, fertilizer, irrigation etc. Reduces the chance of water stagnation in the field and plants do not display yellowing after first irrigation. Sowing by zero till has been found beneficial even in saline-alkali soils. Makes wheat cultivation very simple and free from drudgery.
