The speed of rotation of the screw can be adjusted smoothly without steps from minimum to the maximum rating proportionally (for extruders with hydraulic drive motor) or by adjusting the setting of the electrical frequency (for extruders with inverter drive system).
Each heating zone of the extruder is controlled individually by a set of ceramic heaters. Each heater is mounted firmly on the barrel and is usually supplied with a cooling fan to steadily control the heating parameters. A full coverage of the heated area reduces the risk of thermal shocks. These protective guards are insulated, in order to avoid burns in the event of accidental contact. The feed zone for the plastic material is cooled by means of a water circuit which will prevent the heat from being transferred inside the hopper.
The main components related to the high performance of the extruders are specially custom made in Italy by Euroimpex to suit the blow moulding purpose. Extruder drives are available with hydraulic motor or inverter-controlled electric motor. Both require little maintenance and are efficient and durable. A variety of gear box transmissions are selected to suit the individual selection of drive system as well as output performance. Selection of transmission type is related to the Blow Moulding Machine model as well.
