Smallest Footprint
Speed reduction and power distribution take place in a single compact unit. The drive moter is flange mounted directly to this unit, below the distribution gearing. Large centre distances between the input and output shafts of the reduction gear enable the use of standard AC motor with frequency regulation which are practically maintenance-free.
Innovative Gear/Motor Unit
The metering zones of konos extruders are optimised for the most efficient pressure build-up. In comparison with other designs, the energy input required for pressure build-up is lower by about one third so that the danger of overheating is reduced dramatically. The axical forces arising are easily absorbed by generously dimensioned heavy-duty thrust bearings.
