Service

One pair of single male creasing tools which can either be used alone or in tandem with the above to provide a cover flap hinge front and rear for the book cover

These are used to provide the cover wrap hinge and the cover opening hinge respectively for soft cover books

One pair of double creasing tools ( with one male and one female crease slots per roll)

One perforation tool and rubber ring  , used to perforate the sheets

One slitter tool pair, used to slit the sheets

3 Tools supplied and their usage

The perfing tool should just lightly push against the rubber ring and not bite into it or the rubber will be destroyed

Note the metal tools should never touch !

The excenters should be rotated the same amount in the same direction

Lift the lid , undo the lock screws on the mounting posts and with the special wrench provided slightly rotate the excenter bushes so that the shaft is lowered slightly, re tighten the lock screws and lower the lid

if the slit or perf or scoring is not deep enough then stop the device

If not in the right  position either reposition the side guides or the tools by repeating the process above

Check the position of the crease or perf or slit

Do a trial with one sheet

fasten the grubscrews and remove the allen key ( or you will jam the machine !)

to position the rollers undo the allen grub screws and slide the upper and lower tools as pairs along the shaft to the required position

lift  the shaft cover lid

Note the paper has to be cut square or it will not feed correctly

check the width of the paper to be processed and adjust the magnetic guides accordingly along the centerline of the device

once the proper voltage has been ascertained then plug in the machine

2 Setting up

Important : do not set the tools too close together otherwise they will be damaged !

The upper shaft  may be adjusted higher or lower according to the stock thickness to be processed  by rotating  the left and right excenter  housings by the same amount in the same direction ( to keep the shafts parallel )

Only one sheet is to be fed at one time

The paper will exit the device to a recipient ( not supplied  , usually a box )

Once the paper enters into the tools it is pulled through and will wither be slit , perforated , and or creased by the relevant tools

The table has 1 cm square gridlines and a mm scale to ease the positioning of the guides

The paper is guides into the jaws of the tools using the magnetic paper guides aligned at right angles to the shafts along the table gridlines

once unfastened the tools can be moved in pairs ( upper and lower ) along the shaft to provide creasing and slitting at various points along the width of the sheet

the creaser is fitted with several tools  along upper and lower   common shafts

1 How it works , general principles

if the motors slows up or strains , turn off the machine and unjam it

9 Do not overload the machine with out of spec paper or card

8 No user serviceable parts in the machine; only to be serviced by a qualified trained technician

7 the device should be kept clean and paper scraps removed daily

6 the device is to be used in a dry conditions , if the device becomes wet it must be disconnected and allowed to dry out

5 Wear no loose fitting clothing when using the device

4 The device is fitted with a safety cover , it should always be in place when operating

3 This device is only to be used by trained adult operators

the power supply must be fitted with a ground ( earth line )
