Standard Supplies & A History of Service

Over the decades, hot stamp machine manufacturers have come and gone.  The list is long, and the owners of those machines all share 1 common problem; where do you get parts & support?  For instance : One now defunct brand of manual hot stamp press used to accept only foil rolls with a 5/8" core.  The problem was that the industry standard core size is 1", thus this unusual specification enabled the manufacturer to forever capture the supply business of their machinery clientele (good move for them).  However when the manufacturer later discontinued their line of manual hot stampers, the business of supplying foil on the special foil core was also abandoned, leaving their many customers stranded.
 
The Model 86 uses the industry standard foil core of 1", meaning you can purchase your foil from any foil manufacturer.  This saves you money in your production costs, and allows you to access the full range of modern foils which include a rainbow of metallic and flat colours, sparkles, light diffusion effects, holograms, and more.

Most manual hot stamp presses use a 'C-Frame' design that fixes the clearance between print head and print bed at about 1".  This means that oversized products cannot be stamped because you simply can't fit them under the print head.  An example?  The 2" thick Bible shown to the right could not be hot stamped on most C-Frame machines.  The Model 86 engineers-out this limitation via the adjustable head feature. 

A subtle but potentially valuable feature of the Model 86 is the ability to adjust the height of the print head in relation to the print bed, up to a maximum clearance of 6".  As shown to the right, the printhead can be wound up or down the back post .  The value of this feature lies in being able to accommodate objects like boxes, briefcases, or thick books. 

   

  

Smooth Action Mechanism : When you pull the handle of the 86, there's no stickiness, play or wobble.  This means your die lands squarely on the surface being printed.

Structurally Sound : The tubular steel back column lends rigidity to the frame.  This rigidity is important because it ensures the stamp lands squarely on the product.
 

Size Says A Lot : The 86 weighs about 75 lbs. and stands 26 inches tall, 20 inches wide and 18" deep.  This means that the 86 has enough bulk to do your job well, while retaining the advantage of portability.
 

Observe the quality of metalwork : See how The 86 is built from heavy castings, thick gauge metals and solid brass chase components.  Look at the details : well-fitting parts, counter-sunk holes, heavy threads, and a durable finish.
