HINTS ABOUT GARMENT PRODUCTION MACHINES
This is a wide category of industrial equipment used in manufacturing all clothing made with straight stitches. These machines come in a large variety of shapes and with different feed systems.
They may be in various configurations as follows: Flatbed for a flat sewing surface, Postbed for a vertical sewing surface to permit the operator to use both hands to facilitate turning the
material, Cylinderbed with a horizontal cylinder surface to allow working on sleeves or cuffs. Different fabric thicknesses or qualities require the use of different machines. The most common type
of garment machines used feed from the bottom. Another type is the needle feed. The needle travels with the feed dogs in the fabric eliminating slipping of layers of fabric. Another type is the
Walking Foot machine which has 2 feet. One foot goes up and down while the other foot and the needle advance the fabric. This machine is excellent on thick and hard to feed goods. Any of these
machines are available in single or double needle configurations. i.e. Two Needle Walking Foot Cylinderarm.
