Sam Young Ink and Paint, Ltd. has been the sole metal ink manufacturer in Korea since 1976. With a technical partnership with Toyo, Japan, Sam Young has been producing quality paint products for 3PIECE (general cans, food cans, etc.) and 2PIECE (beverage cans). The superior quality of this companys products is based on excellent color, adaptability for wet print, manufacturability, and durability against chemicals, lights, and friction. Sam Young has also successfully developed a water-soluble ink, as well as a dual purpose ink that can be used as both water- and oil-based ink for food cans because of its high-concentration and high-speed printing capability. In addition, Sam Young holds 98% of the market share for domestic metal ink. Sam Young is focusing on innovation in printing techniques and futuristic, environmentally friendly products by using an ultraviolet drying method instead of the hot air drying method.
