In the early 1990s, he established Stanley I. Etkind Enterprises (Pty) Limited, a corporation involved in property management, minerals, metals, chemical and other commodities, IT, media and telecommunication, financial services, transportation and electronic management, financial and other worldwide business opportunities. He is a member of the Worlds President Organization, National Federation of The Chambers of Commerce and the Foundation for the Development of Africa.
He later merged with Miltons and was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in June 1987 under the name Milstan. It was known as the most successful listing then in the history of the JSE, oversubscribing two hundred and twenty one times and generating one billion Rand in deposit. As the Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Milstan, Mr. Etkind managed all 34 stores nationwide.
Mr. Etkinds expertise is in marketing management, financial advisory and human networking. Mr. Etkind opened the first Stans store in consumer electronics in the early 70s, and this quickly expanded to include eleven stores becoming the most dominant retailer in the economic hub of South Africa.
