The Dutch food giant Unilever has given a grant to begin the domestication of Allanblackia floribunda. It wants to use the tree seeds to produce high quality food oil. The project, codenamed
'Novella', has already got under way in Tanzania, where World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) staff have begun collecting fruit from trees in three populations.
