Biodegradable Starch Resin (abbreviated as BSR) made from renewable resources is an important material innovation because it decreases dependence on petroleum and reduces the amount of waste material that is sent to landfill,while still yielding a product that provides similar benefits of traditional plastics such as polyethylene.
BSR is a biopolymer that uses corn starch, whilst preserving the chemical structure generated by photosynthesis.
