The packing industry is rapidly changing, both domestically and globally. We have developed eco-friendly PLA shrink film, branded a CornSleeve.  This next generation film is an ideal substitute for many grades of PVC shrink film. 

Our goal is to be a leading company in the packing field of stationery, snacks and grocery. We are trying to put our name on high-valued companies, with the high-quality products which were manufactured through the machinery up-graded in 2002.

Recently, multi-layered shrink film, or polyolefin, is sold in the Korean market for that past decade, as well as enjoying export success into the USA market.  This success has been propelled by the expertise and experience employed by Wedus manufacturing operations.

Currently, the shrink label market is one of the fastest growing global categories due to diverse consumer tastes. Therefore, beverage companies tend to brand their bottles and containers using colorful labels. These bottles and containers require high quality shrink film for labeling. Wedus is a leading global shrink film manufacturer, exporting to many countries, including the USA, which is the worlds largest market.  

In addition, we did the business of PE, PVDC wrap for home use and PVC wrap for commercial use.  

At that time the main reason to develop the PVDC film was because the producers of processed meats depended on Japan for the film.

 In the early 90s, a new plastic innovation, PVDC film, was developed in cooperation with KAIST, utiliziing advanced plastic processing technology. However, it was not sold because of price competitiveness.

The random copolymer was successfully developed in cooperation with each other for our purpose. We were the only company to produce PP shrink film.

 In the late 80s, no Korean companies manufactured Random Copolymer.  Japanese imports were required to support local demand.  Around this time, Honam oil refinery, a subsidiary LG group, proposed  to develop random copolymers with us,  It was to produce the new grade materials with our machinery.

 In the early 70s, shrink films such as PVC, PP, PE and medical bags and tubes were developed. Especially, Wedus Chemical Co., Ltd. Was especially focused on PVC sheet development by our in-house technology in the medical field and Green Cross made medical bags using our PVC sheet and exclusively supplied it to local hospitals.

40 years ago, Samsung  Chemical, the predecessor of Wedus Chemical Co., Ltd., was a leading company in the  shrink film and medical sheets markets. Wedus Chemical Co., Ltd., meaning a leap toward global market, was established by President Young-Soo Shin in 1999.  His enterprising and creative mind made the company flourishing, once again.
