Is fitment of 100 micron security film to the convex back window included in the price? For security against break-ins film should also be fitted to the rear convex windshield. 100 micron fitment to the back convex window is included in our price. Some suppliers do not fit this due to the intricacies of the job [curved back windscreens need to have molded film]. Be aware that some suppliers fit a matching window tint of 40 micron or less to back windows instead of 100 micron security film.

How to Choose the Right Fitter

Although 100 micron film performs its security function more than adequately, we do have some customers who prefer 200 micron film see price difference below.

Be aware that ordinary window tint, although cheaper, is a thinner grade of film [only 20 to 40 microns thick] and does not have the security benefits of tinted laminate safety film. Security film is 4 to 7 times thicker than ordinary window tint providing a much greater safety advantage. [Windscreen is not included and can only be fitted with its own specialist film].

Beware of cheap substitute products that only have 2 layers in the film composition instead of the recommended 4 layers.

For total peace of mind, our workmanship and the internationally certified safety film both have a full 5 year warranty from the date of installation in compliance with the manufacturers specifications. The warranty is against any peeling, blistering, bubbling, delaminating from the glass, fading or changing colour and turning purple. If, in the unlikely event that the product fails to comply under recommended use and maintenance within the warranty period the purchaser may obtain a replacement of the affected area at no cost. Warranty claims are directed to Smart Auto Solutions, supported by a network of 16 centers around the country that will attend to any remedial work to be undertaken.

Security film of 100 micron is applied to the front side, back and quarter vent windows as well as the rear windshield where smash and grabs occur.

The vehicles door pads are removed so that the safety film can be fitted onto the complete inside area of each window.

Application

The porcelain trick simply shatters the glass but it is still held in place. By hand It takes extreme man-size force hitting the window up to10x before glass breaks but, it is still held firmly in place by the film and has to be hacked away with a sharp knife before they can get in. This gives you plenty of time to drive off. The majority of petty criminals do not even try to break into a vehicle fitted with tinted safety film due to the extreme effort and length of time it would take!
