Expanded polystyrene is a versatile and inexpensive material that is easily shaped to make it an important packaging product for many different industries. It is made in different grades, giving combinations of density, strength and insulation value.Polystyrene packaging can be produced in a custom shaped mould to produce a moulded detailed shape or made in block form to be hot wire shaped and formed to individual requirements. Most customer needs can be satisfied by the use of hot wire cutting techniques, as large volumes are necessary to make the cost of a mould viable.By the use of CNC techniques any 2 dimensional shape can be produced and by use of fabrication different layers can be built up, if 3 dimensional shaping is necessary.Typical standard applications are boxes, corners, edge protectors, channels, endcaps, pads and discs. If needed we can offer a design service and provides samples for which there is normally no charge.We have no minimum order quantity, but we will provide you with better prices for higher quantities.If carrying out a simple price comparison exercise it is important to consider the grade of material concerned. Over the years lighter (and cheaper) grades have been formulated which can often do the job that heavier grades were needed for in the past. It may be worth asking for samples in a lighter grade if you are already being supplied with material. We can advise on flame retardant material and insulation values if required
