Today, IBH is one of the leading publishers of illustrated volumes on Indian history and heritage, specializing in architecture, fine art, decorative art, film, environment, and lifestyle. Its landmark, large-format books include the national-award winning Jaipur: The Last Destination; Jewels of the Nizams the official catalogue of a magnificent national treasure; Dome Over India: Rashtrapati Bhavan, on Edwin Lutyens imposing building, now the Presidents residence in New Delhi; and, most recently, Palaces of Rajasthan, a beautiful exploration of five centuries of royal architecture in the desert state.
IBH commenced its publishing activities in 1966, with paperback editions of titles by bestselling authors such as Enid Blyton and Frederick Forsyth. A reprint of the Classics Illustrated series followed, along with bolder initiatives in childrens publishing the company embarked on the legendary Amar Chitra Katha classics, an illustrated series based on Indian history, legend, and folklore.
