Oil seeds used for producing cooking oil are olive oil, sesame, safflower, sunflower, grape seed, canola, apricot kernel, coconut, hazelnut, peanut, pumpkin, and walnut oils.
This is because while it is an essential lubricant to help in the cooking process, yet it can be harmful for health, especially where one is prone to ailments due to extra cholesterol and excessive weight problems, as well as hypertension and diabetes, amongst others.
Apart from the natural nutrients present in these sources of cooking oil, there are additives that are put into them to cut down on the cholesterol and fatty acids.
