As per Map, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Uttaranchal is rich in forest so there is immense scope for forest produce in such areas & also the geography of all these three places is favorable for cultivation of Nagarmotha (Cyperus Scariosus). It naturally occurs in Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh (Raipur), Rajasthan & Southern parts of India. Oil is extracted by distillation of dark brown/ black colored rhizomes beared by the plant & has 0.25- 0.6% yield. The tubers contain fat, sugar, gum, carbohydrates, essential oil, albuminoid matter, starch fiber and ash.
Many forest produce such as Agarwood, Sandalwood & other oriental fragrances are becoming extinct so its time to change to another source for oriental fragrance which has similar characteristic i.e. Nagarmotha (Cyperus Scariosus).
