Frankincense essential oil is produced from the gum of a shrub that grows in the Arabian peninsula and Somalia. Cuts on the bark yield a milky liquid that hardens into yellow droplets of resin known as tears. These tears are used in making incense, flavors and perfumes. The pure essential oil is produced from the resinous tears using ONLY a steam distillation process. This oil has a color range from nearly clear to pale yellow.
