Skin types most accepted myth: There are many myths about skin types. Some beauty experts will tell you that you have got one sort of skin on your cheeks, another sort on your forehead and so on and so on. There is talk about dry skin, greasy skin and combination skin. The truth is that your skin is alive and always changing in texture and form. Its state, at any time depends on a number of factors. Your age, the amount of time you have spent in the sun, what you have been putting on it and how you have been looking after it. And because your skin responds to changes in the environment, different areas of the skin will need different care. The skin on your feet may well be dry, whereas the skin on your face is greasy. It is best to care for your skin by cleaning it carefully and moisturizing it well. Dont be tempted into believing that you have one particular skin type.

Moisturizers work in much the same way that waxed paper helps keep bread fresh not by adding anything but by preserving what is already there. Most moisturizing agents contain a mixture of oil and water (relatively large amount of water and a small amount of oil) and the water content disappears when rubbed on to the skin. Some cosmetic moisturizer may contain harsh chemicals which may have instant results but harmful when used for a long time.
