Hyssop is a small perennial native to Europe and the Mediterranean. It is mentioned in the Bible as well as early medical texts from European herbalists. Its aroma is unique and it is often mixed with other essential oils for a subtle, spicy undertone. This essential oil is 100% pure.
Safety Information: Avoid if pregnant. Do not use if diagnosed with epilepsy or high blood pressure.
Parts used: Leaves and flowering tops. Extraction method: Steam distillation.
Mixes well with: Clary sage, geranium, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, lime, orange, sage, rosemary, and tangerine.
Fun fact: In the 10th century, Benedictine monks introduced hyssop to Europe as an ingredient for liqueurs.
