Pure Infant Glycerine Soap

Propylene Glycol. Glycerine, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Laurate, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Sorbitol, Sucrose, Aqua, Defensil (Cardiospermum Halicacabum, Echium Plantagineum, and Helianthus Annuus)

Pure Infant contains the active ingredient DEFENSIL?. DEFENSIL? is a unique combination of the plant extracts of Cardiospermum, Halicacabum, Echium Plantagineum and Helianthus Annuus. It gives protection to sensitive and demanding skin and acts preventatively against skin irritations like nappy rash. DEFENSIL? also has an inflammation inhibitory effect, thus strengthening the barriers of the skin.

When making glycerine soap vegetable fats are mixed with caustic soda. The glycerine is left in the formula and there is no unreacted caustic soda, but unreacted fats. If unreacted caustic soda is left in the soap it reacts with the skin's natural oils making more soap - this dries the skin out. High quality glycerine soaps, such as Pure Infant soap, with unreacted fats do not strip the skin of its natural oils.

Pure Infant Soap is glycerine soap in its purest form. It is colour, fragrance and preservative free and contains no petroleum derived raw materials or unreacted caustic soda, only unreacted fats. This ensures that Pure Infant soap is very gentle and is suitable for baby's sensitive skin. To make soap, fats of either vegetable or animal origin are mixed with caustic soda (also known as lye). The result is soap and glycerine. In order to make a normal soap, as compared to a glycerine soap, there has to be unreacted caustic soda in the bar.
