Traditional African Black Soap

There are no chemicals, preservatives, fragrances or color enhances in the traditional Pure African Blacksoap. The lye that is used in the saponification process is made from the ash of dried banana bark and the bark from the local Agow tree (harvested sustainably). Some add Sheabutter or Cocoa butter to the basic recipe when required.

Traditionally, African Blacksoap is not scented, and the block can be cut into individual sizes and used right away. Some people enjoy chopping it, melting it and adding their favorite fragrances and herbs then pour into moulds to make bars.
